Poodle - Mack - Small - Young - Male - Dog
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please visit our website to fill out an application for consideration. Thank you! www.goingtothedogsrescue.org DOB:8/2013 Mack has been returned to us and unfortunately they did not provide him a very stable structured home with training so he has had a few behavioral set backs. He appears to be very attached to men and does tend to guard his 'person' so he may not do well in a home with young children or busy homes with lots of visitors. He does NOT do well with grooming and requires someone with a ton of patience and he may need a muzzle. We are not doing this to discourage someone, but want to be very honest because we have received so many applications for him, but we feel people may not understand that he has more challenges than most of our dogs up for adoption. For grooming, he would do best with an 'in home' groomer who has hours of time available to provide him with breaks and the least amount of stress as possible. Meet Mr. Mack! He is a little 1yr old poodle mix who always has a big smile on his face. He bounces around the house playing with his toys and looking for love and affection. He has not had any accidents in the house since his first day with us. He really loves being cuddled and given praise, and even prefers affection over treats most of the time! Training is a requirement for Mack due to his behavioral setbacks. Mack's adoption fee is $200. This fee includes his neuter, shots, de-worming and micro chip. Going To The Rescuers, Inc. or otherwise known as Going To The Dogs Rescue (GTTDR) is a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping our homeless pets find loving forever homes. We are involved in not only assisting dogs in our local community but all over as needed and when we are able to reach out. We are also dedicated to starting up a Coaching Canines Program once our shelter facility is purchased where we will allow volunteers and youth come in and work with our dogs to make them more adoptable by socialization, care, and training. Our rescue operates solely on generous donations from individuals and corporations that are able to contribute once or on a continuous basis. Adoption Procedures: We only consider your home for adoption after we receive an application. Once this is complete we then move on in the process to adopting your new best friend. Once we receive an application we review it to see if the particular dog(s) might be a good fit for your home/lifestyle and that you meet the required needs of the dog. Once this is done we proceed to check veterinary references. This is to ensure that pets you have or have had in the past were cared for, altered, and up to date with necessary medical care. Once you have been through this initial screening we then set up a home visit to ensure that the home is a safe home with little concern about their personality matching yours. We also want to ensure that the home is set up for the same energy levels or medical needs they may or may not have (dog that can't climb stairs, or not enough room to walk, etc.) These steps are important to ensuring that we are finding the proper home for the dog to be FURever! A few requirements of adoption are: *We currently do not adopt out of state. *We do not adopt to homes with smoking indoors due to health concerns for the pets *Our 'bully' breed adoptions require you to be a homeowner, have a fully fenced yard (not invisible fencing) unless you have acreage, and you are required to attend an obedience training class. This is due to the high rate of returns in dogs that are not properly exercised or trained and make it difficult to re-home. *We are a registered not for profit and do not earn a salary, our adoption fees are recycled to help rescue our future dogs. We are always looking for assistance on our team as well as donations to help run our rescue smoothly. Frequently Asked Questions: 1. I applied to adopt a pitbull but we have an invisible fence not a solid fencing, can we still adopt? -unfortunately invisible fencing is not full proof fencing and does not protect your
