Thank you! www.goingtothedogsrescue.org Ari has blossomed into a handsome, self assured, confidant and goofy young man.While he still struggles with concepts like eating pajamas is not a good idea and toilet paper is NOT a yummy snack, he HAS mastered Sit, stay, shake and down like a BOSS! His antics keep us laughing (and on our toes) constantly and his ears are a thing of wonder I mean seriously have you ever seen more perfectly, deliciously, fantastic ears in your life? He is still working on meeting and greeting other dogs in an appropriate manner and because of such he would probably do best as the only dog in his forever home. This is not to say he is aggressive in ANY way he is just very easily excitable and sometimes he comes on a little strong. That excitement can be perceived as a threat by other dogs and can cause problems. But Ari certainly means NO harm he is a total love bug and wants nothing more than to kiss VERY.SQUARE.INCH. of your whole entire head. (this includes inside your ears and nose be warned, He is still majorly obsessed with peanut butter but has also branched out and now has found a love of some veggies including carrots!!! In the winter you will be VERY safe from any invading snow flakes if Ari was to come live with you he is an AVID and fierce snow flake hunter he will chase those little buggers down and pounce on them! No snowflake is safe with him around. When night night time comes, Ari has gotten MUCH better about getting in his crate, we have to coax him in with a treat or a toy but there is no longer the prolonged barking and whining and carrying on that there used to be. He settles down nicely and goes right to sleep with no drama. He is perfectly house trained and goes right to the door and paws at it when he needs out. Ari's adoption fee is $200 to help cover some of the costs of his Neuter, Micro Chip, de-wormer and all his vaccines. Intake info: Ari is a very special boy. He came in almost dead as a stray in the City of Rochester. He is one of the worst cases of starvation in a dog that I have ever personally witnessed. Ari is under the care and supervision of veterinarians as well as behaviorists to make sure that Ari is well cared for after this abuse/neglect he endured. If you are interested in providing a donation for his recovery we would be appreciative as well! Once this is complete we then move on in the process to adopting your new best friend. Once we receive an application we review it to see if the particular dog(s) might be a good fit for your home/lifestyle and that you meet the required needs of the dog. Once this is done we proceed to check veterinary references. This is to ensure that pets you have or have had in the past were cared for, altered, and up to date with necessary medical care. Once you have been through this initial screening we then set up a home visit to ensure that the home is a safe home with little concern about their personality matching yours. We also want to ensure that the home is set up for the same energy levels or medical needs they may or may not have (dog that can't climb stairs, or not enough room to walk, etc.) These steps are important to ensuring that we are finding the proper home for the dog to be FURever! A few requirements of adoption are: *We currently do not adopt out of state. *We do not adopt to homes with smoking indoors due to health concerns for the pets *Our 'bully' breed adoptions require you to be a homeowner, have a fully fenced yard (not invisible fencing) unless you have acreage, and you are required to attend an obedience training class. This is due to the high rate of returns in dogs that are not properly exercised or trained and make it difficult to re-home. *We are a registered not for profit and do not earn a
